Link Between Order Products and Amended/Renewed Order Products

Amended or renewed Order Products contain lookups and references to the original Order Products. You can use these lookups to generate a single invoice per Product.

  • When Salesforce CPQ creates an Order Product from an Amendment Order, that Order Product's Contract Action field displays how it was created:
    • New
    • Quantity Increase
    • Quantity Decrease
    • Product Swap
    • Renew
  • The Revised Order Product field is only populated when the parent Order is an Amendment Order. This field contains a lookup to the original Order Product that the current Order Product is revising.
  • When you create an Order from a Quote, the Order's Type field will match its parent Quote's Type.

You can use Order Type, Order Product Contract Action, and Revised Order Product to review an Order Product's history as it passes through the amendment or renewal process.

Good afternoon,

Is this true for amendments of subscriptions and service contracts?

My client is on the older versions of Steelbrick, CPQ (v26) and Billing (v5).  Is there a similar document that describes the interaction of CPQ and Billing orders for amendments for these versions?  I don't see the fields mentioned in this article on the objects for this version of billing.

Thanks, Mike
