Hiding Options in Configurator

This feature allows administrators to hide Product Options that are not relevant to sales reps, allowing them to have a more streamlined sales experience.

  • On the Product Action object, add the following values to your Type picklist: Show, Hide, Show & Add, Hide & Remove

  1. Create a Product Rule that places constraints on Product Options.
  2. Click New Product Action within the Actions section.
  3. Choose a Product Action Type
    • Show: Product Option is visible to sales rep
    • Hide: Product Option is hidden from sales rep
    • Show & Add: Product Option is visible to sales rep and added to the Line Editor (sales rep can still deselect this Product Option)
    • Hide & Remove: Product Option is hidden from sales rep and removed from the Line Editor
  4. Enter any other relevant information.
  5. Click Save.

Improves user experience for sales reps by removing unavailable Product Options. Previously, these unavailable Product Options would appear in the Configurator as "Read-Only."

Note: In order to revert the "Hide Options in Configurator" feature within Line Editor to its initial state, click the "Cancel" button or refresh your browser. If the Configuration Attribute, "Apply Immediately," is set to "False," an Update button does not trigger the Line Editor page to reload. The Hide and Show options will not display on the screen. The only way to update the screen is to set the Configuration Attribute, "Apply Immediately," to "True."

Caution: This feature does not associate with the following: Enable, Disable, Enable & Add, Disable & RemoveIf you wish to reset your configuration back to Enable & Add with a field that was previously hidden by another hidden rule, it cannot be reset/shown again by using "Show & Add," unless it is set to use "Show"/"Show & Add."

Step by step instruction is not clear. For exmaple, Step 1. How to place constraint on product option? select test object eq to product option? what about error condition? Is it needed or not?

Can you provide more details.

User Case: Remove/Hide all the support product options in the bundle.
