OVERVIEW

Organize excess line editor fields in collapsible drawers displayed under each quote line.

KEY CONCEPTS

DETAILS

Quote Line Editor Drawers are available in Salesforce CPQ 28.0 and newer.

If your quote line editor has a large field set and you want to organize the editor layout, you can place certain fields in a collapsible drawer below each line item.

Benefits include:

  • Eliminating the need for horizontal scrolling.
  • Giving the user the ability to see all fields related to a quote line in a single view (or at once).

Add the fields you want collapsed to the Quote Line's Standard Line Item Drawer field set. All fields in this set will appear in drawers under each quote line. You can have any number of drawers open or closed at the same time and edit fields as needed in each drawer.

To view a Standard Product line's drawer, select the arrow icon on the far-right side of the quote line. drawers1.png

Select the table header arrow to collapse all line item drawers for that table.

Note: As of Salesforce CPQ 28.0, the Standard Line Item Drawer field set applies fields to all line items and may not be customized for individual line items.

Any rich text editor fields in Standard Line Item Drawer are displayed immediately below the drawer’s Details header.  They will display in the order that you have them in the field set.

Mobile

In SF1, Standard Line Item Drawer fields are automatically appended to each line item’s card.

SETUP

Add the fields you want collapsed to the Quote Line's Standard Line Item Drawer field set.

@lvoelz2 am trying to use drawers and we have different field sets  for a new quote versus an amendment versus a Renewal. For new quotes we use the Standard 'Line Editor' field set. For amendments/Renewals we have our own field sets that we assign dynamically with a formula  in field EditLinesFieldSetName. The drawers show up on the New quote,  but they don't show up for amendments/renewals. Do they work only on the default 'Line Editor' field set ?

I have the same exact question. How do we create dynamic drawers

@lvoelz2 We must be missing something on our end.  I added items to the Standard Line Item Drawer field set.  However, we are only seeing the carrot arrows to expand the drawer on the line column.  This expands all line items.  We do not see the option at the individual line item level.  I've tried zooming in and out, going into full screen, etc., and cannot seem to determine why this is all we see.  Do you have any ideas?  Thanks!

@wpessoa Or here are the specific fieldsets:

1) Have you tested in different browsers?

2) Do you have a custom code during new quote? Could you insert a screenshot of your URL during a new quote AND edit lines?

Ex. 2017-07-26_11-57-51.jpg

3) Another thought, there may be something wrong with the way you are dynamically setting the fieldsets... Type to remove your formula field (so the "Line Editor" is the only base fieldset). If that works, try to see what is wrong with your formula...

4) Last but not least, open a ticket?
