Document Output Size

Set your document’s page size with the Paper Size menu on the Generate Document Screen.  For example, if your sales rep needs to generate a document in Japanese, they would want to select an output size in A4.

This feature is available on Salesforce CPQ 28.0 and newer.

The Paper Size menu provides four options:

  • Default: Page size according to the Quote Template’s Page Width and Page Height fields.
  • Letter: 8.5” wide by 11” long.
  • Legal: 8.5” wide by 14” long
  • A4: 8.27” wide by 11.69” long.

Letter, Legal and A4 options override the Quote Template’s Page Width and Page Height values. This way, you just need one single Template for your custom desired size, then override it if needed during document generation.

Note: Exceptionally long text strings (i.e., a 5-inch string on a 2-inch-wide page) will wrap.

Note: Exceptionally long text strings (i.e., a 12-inch string on an 8.5-inch-wide page) will still wrap.

No setup required.

The label is actually Paper Size, not Output Size.

@dhoechst Updated - Thanks for the note.

What is the max file size of the output document?

@Nikita_Che it's around 5 MB.

@Nikita_Che it's around 5 MB.

On other places on this forum I read 1.5MB for the generated part, and another 1.5MB for the attached PDF's.

When I test i find these 1.5Mb (*2) to be realistic. Anything bigger will face a 'hang' of the document gen-phase. Can anyone please give the final word on this and also if there are new developments to increase these sizes?

Ps. A clear error-message would be great as well.

We don't need this "Paper Size" option in Preview document.. is there any way to remove that ?

by msiclusan

Hello @Jagan

Did you find a way to remove the "Paper size" from the page ?

Many thanks,

Hey Mihaela,

That feature is enabled as part of CPQ version 28.0

that can't be removed or customized.

I was afraid that we can't remove it. Thank you for your answer! Have a nice day !
