Dynamically Displaying Quote Line Columns

A field on the quote Line Column object, called Conditional Print Field , allows you to hide a column in your quote line section, using a field on the quote. Use this field if you want to hide a column, such as Discount %, on some quote dynamically. This is a convenient alternative to creating two separate Quote Templates: one showing discounts and the other hiding discounts.

To set this up:

  1. Create a custom formula field on the Quotes object that indicates when a discount is present. When this formula is true, your generated quote document will display the conditional print field as a column in your quote lines.
  2. Copy the API name of this field.
  3. Add this new field as a picklist value to the Conditional Print Field picklist on your Line Columns object.

Hi can you please give me an example of item 1? I've never created a formula true/false before. Can you flesh out item 1 into more detail please?

Hi Ali,

You'll have to create a formula field of datatype as Checkbox within quote object, there you'll have to put the below formula:

IF(SBQQ__DistributorDiscount__c > 0, true, false)

Hope this helps!

@unnatshrestha Will SBQQ__DistributorDiscount__c  catch any and all discounting on a quote? Would SBQQ__AverageCustomerDiscount__c be a better option?

I want to execute this formula no matter what the discount type is, customer, distributor, etc. Just trying to determine which field to reference. Also looking at SBQQ__TotalCustomerDiscountAmount__c
