User-Defined Discount Schedules

This feature allows you to adjust established discount schedules for future add-ons or expansions. Users can view the Discount Schedule applied on the Line Editor Page and can also edit the Discount Schedule Name, Discount Unit, and Tiers associated to the discount schedule.

Note: The Override Behavior field has replaced the Allow Override field. Customers on 24.2 using Allow Override (only available in minor Spring versions) will need to data load their values into Override Behavior.

USING USER-DEFINED DISCOUNT SCHEDULES

  1. Navigate to a Quote and click Add Products.
  2. Add a Product with a Discount Schedule wherein the Override Behavior picklist is set to All or Current Tier Only. If you are unfamiliar with Discount Schedules, please review Discount Schedules & Volume Discounts.
  3. Navigate to the Quote's Edit Lines page and hover over the Discount Schedule Icon Screen Shot 2016-02-24 at 10.22.32 AM.pngto view Volume Discount Schedules.Screen Shot 2016-02-28 at 8.14.22 PM.png
  4. Click the Discount Schedule icon to edit and override the active Discount Schedule:
    • The Discount Schedule Name can be changed so it is relevant to the current quote or discount.
    • The Discount Schedule's Discount Unit can be changed from Percent to Amount.
    • Tier Names, Lower/Upper Bounds and Discounts can be adjusted for each tier.
    • Add or delete a tier by clicking the + icon or the trash icon.
    • To delete all tiers, select the Select All checkbox to the left of the Tier # and click Delete. Tier 1 cannot be deleted because at least one tier is required for a Discount Schedule to take effect.Screen Shot 2016-02-29 at 8.59.13 AM.png
  5. Click Save to save the edited Discount Schedule for this Quote Line.

Tip: Discount Schedules created in the Line Editor can be saved as Contracted Prices by saving the Quote Line as a Contracted Price. See the Auto-generating a Contracted Price article for more information.

Note: Any customers updating from the Winter Minor Release will need to update their discount schedule records to contain Override Behavior instead of Allow Override, and data load values into Override Behavior if necessary.
